A wonderfully evocative piece of Celtic slide guitar. You'll find notes below the tab. You can also listen to a magic performance of this instrumental by Rick Payne*, from The Acoustic Guitar Workshop's CD "Devil Inside ", right here by clicking the audio link below.

Notes on Kilkenny -
D tuning - D A D F# A D

This is a guide to the tune as I played it on Blue River Blues. Play the dotted tab numbers with the slide but leave out any glissando. The slide sweeps are marked with a slash and are played from at least one fret below. Vibrato is an important ingredient to the tune and should be played with feeling. Kilkenny is one of my favourite instrumentals in which I tried to join together my love of Blues and Celtic music - thanks for liking it too. If you are interested in more of this style check out the great Blind Willie Johnson or Ry Cooder.
