A
few points worth mentioning
All scale playing whether blues or not, can be confusing when linking
in with chords. I've found the easiest system to use, apart from your
ears god bless them, is to always aim for the root of the chord you are
playing. For example, if you are playing in the 3 chord tricks of C minor
or C7, use the scale notes in such a way as to target the roots of each
of those chords. It doesn't matter which note you start on as long as
you head back to the root of the chord before moving onto the next chord.
If it still appears to be difficult, it means you're trying too many notes
- simplify your playing with less notes. Less is more!
For
further study, it should be obvious by now you must be familiar with the
fretboard, ie know your roots on all the strings in all positions. That
is a lot of work, but it's worth it in the end because you will be a much
finer guitar player.
